Trump tells GOP he won’t sign stopgap, threatening shutdown

Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said Thursday President Trump will not sign a stopgap spending bill over concerns about border security

“The president informed us he will not sign the bill,” he told reporters at the White House after meeting with Trump. 

He said lawmakers would work on adding border security measures to the funding bill.

  1. I think it is SERIOUSLY time that border security is addressed, and I believe DEMS are putting politics ahead of TRUE and lasting border security. The President DID sign a 1.3 Trillion budget earlier this year, and WAS told that border security WOULD be addressed by END OF YEAR!! Get border security PROPERLY SETTLED, or SHUT IT DOWN UNTIL DONE!!!

  2. Since the House has passed a bill with $5 Billion for border security/wall it’s time for McConnell to wipe the smiles off Chucky and Nancy’s faces! Shut the government down, it isn’t keeping us safe without the wall. Millions of Americans voted for that wall! And Nancy you have to run again in 2020!
